Dr Harry Harvey is a BRC Fellow within the University of Birmingham's Biomedical Research Centre and has been a part of the Bioencapsulation and Microbiome Interface Research Lab since 2024.
He completed his PhD in molecular microbiology at the University of Nottingham in 2021, and has conducted research in environmental, food, and biomedical microbiology.
His current work focuses on developing probiotic formulations to treat and prevent oral diseases. These conditions affect more than half of adults and can sometimes contribute to wider health problems elsewhere in the body.

Dr Phuong Ling Ta was supported by an EPSRC Healthcare Technologies award to develop innovative formulation strategies that improve the viability of next-generation probiotics.
